Trailhead. This hike begins from the upper picnic area where ample parking is normally available. The picnic area was closed at the time of our visit, leaving room for a couple vehicles to park outside the gate. [map]

Trail navigation. It’s easiest to hike this counterclockwise where you’ll descend down to the arches as you make your way along the loop, under the bridge, and arrive at the other trailhead near the low point of the parking lot.

CAUTION - Poisonous snakes. Timber rattlesnakes and copperheads can be found in the region. Stay alert on the trail, as snakes are commonly found taking in the warmth of the trail. Give them a wide berth or wait for them to move off the trail.

CAUTION - Bears. Black bears are growing in number throughout Daniel Boone National Forest. Be sure to follow bear safety precautions. [Be Bear Aware by US Forest Service]
