Trail navigation. This hike is much easier clockwise. Starting at the trailhead, begin your hike and look for a sharp left to reach the overlook. Return to the main trail and look left for the staircase to descend toward Yahoo Falls. Continue on until reaching the falls and take your time here. After leaving the falls, look left to find the trail down to Roaring Rocks Cataract that you will hear well before the intersection. Follow the sound of roaring water to reach the cataract. Return to the main trail, turn left and continue uphill to loop around to the top of the falls. Continue past the top of the falls and follow the trail back to the parking lot.

CAUTION - Poisonous snakes. Timber rattlesnakes and copperheads can be found in the region. Stay alert on the trail, as snakes are commonly found taking in the warmth of the trail. Give them a wide berth or wait for them to move off the trail.

CAUTION - Bears. Black bears are growing in number throughout Eastern Kentucky. Be sure to follow bear safety precautions. [Be Bear Aware by US Forest Service]
