Dinsmore Woods State Nature Preserve Lollipop

Overview. Of all the seasons to hike local, Spring is by far the best! It’s wildflower season throughout Kentucky and this hike had plenty to admire. This trail is local to me - a short drive from home - and this is the best time of year to take a walk in the woods to simply enjoy the forest.

Trail navigation. The trail is easily followed and blazed with State Nature Preserve and County signs affixed to trees. Whether hiking clockwise or counterclockwise, a steep climb awaits you, but each is short and easily managed by taking your time. Trail shoes are recommended when the ground is wet.

No dogs. As a nature preserve, dogs are not allowed on the trails. Please hike Middle Creek Park across the street instead.
